Scope

A practice of the healing arts, the purpose of which is to restore or maintain human health, in which patient-care, or first aid, hygienic, nutritional, or rehabilitative procedures are administered, and which places emphasis upon specific vertebral adjustment, manipulation and treatment of the articulation and adjacent tissues of the spinal column and musculoskeletal structure of the body and nervous system. A chiropractor may examine, diagnose and treat only within this scope, and may not perform "incisive" surgery, prescribe or administer drugs, or medicines for which an authorized prescription is required by law, treat cancer, practice obstetrics, prescribe or administer X-ray therapy or set displaced fractures. A chiropractor may use X-ray for diagnostic purposes only.

Additionally, the applicant must take and pass the Utah Chiropractic Law & Rule examination.
